What is the National Early Years Teacher of the Year Award?
The National Early Years Teacher of the Year Award is a competition to recognise the hard work of Early Years Teachers.
If you know an exceptional Early Years Teacher, why not nominate them? Winners will receive the title of the National Early Years Teacher of the Year, a trophy, a certificate and a £100 Amazon voucher.
There can be only four national winners but we believe that every Early Years Teacher deserves to be celebrated! Therefore, every nominee will receive a certificate to recognise their achievement.

How to Nominate
- Recognise the extraordinary work of your Early Years Teacher
- Decide who you will nominate and ensure they have Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Nominate them in one of the four categories
- The winners will be officially announced on National Early Years Teacher Day – 15th of April.
The National Early Years Teacher of the Year Awards 2025
On the 15th of April, four Early Years Teachers will be officially named National Early Years Teachers of the Year. If your nursery or an early years setting has an Early Years Teacher who always goes above and beyond, you should recognise them for their effort and nominate them in one of the four categories.
Winners will be notified on the day and receive a named glass trophy, a certificate and a £100 Amazon voucher!

2. Men in the Early Years Teacher of the Year
3. Trainee Early Years Teacher of the Year
4. Expert Early Years Teacher (5+ years of experience)
Prizes
Each winner of the National Early Years Teacher of the Year Award will receive a beautiful glass trophy engraved with their name, as well as a certificate recognising their outstanding achievement. In addition, they will receive a £100 Amazon voucher to spend as they please.
Settings will be notified on their winners before the 15th of April so they can present the prizes to the winners on National Early Years Teacher Day.
While only four national winners will be selected, we believe that every Early Years Teacher deserves recognition for their hard work and dedication. That’s why every nominee will receive a certificate acknowledging their nomination for the award. We want to celebrate the contributions of all teachers who make a difference in the lives of young children.
