Build Baldwin a Home

To celebrate National Early Years Teacher Day, Early Years settings and childminders across the country are invited to take part in a creative activity: Build Baldwin a Home.

Working together with children, educators are encouraged to design or create a home for Baldwin the Bear in any creative way they choose.

The activity can be organised by classroom, group, or whole setting, depending on how children are organised in your environment.

1. Who Can Take Part

The activity is open to Early Years settings and childminders across England.

Participants may include:

• Early years practitioners
• Room leaders
• Setting managers
• Childminders

Activities should be completed together with children in your care. Entries can be organised by classroom, group, or setting, depending on how children are structured in your environment.

Each classroom or group may submit one entry.

2. How to Take Part

Work together with children to design and create a home for Baldwin the Bear.

There are no limits to creativity. Your Baldwin home could be:

• A drawing or painting
• A craft project
• A model or structure
• A creative build using classroom materials
• Any imaginative creation made with children

The most important part of the activity is that the creation is made together with the children.

How to Enter

1. Create your Baldwin Bear home with your group or classroom.
2. Take a photograph of the finished creation.
3. Submit the photo using the online entry form.

You will be asked to provide:

• Educator name
• Classroom or group name
• Setting name

Entries close April 6.

By submitting your entry, you agree that the photograph may be shared on the National Early Years Teacher Day website and social media channels as part of the campaign showcase.

How It Will Be Judged

All submitted entries will first be reviewed by a judging panel.

A selection of entries will then be shortlisted and featured on the National Early Years Teacher Day website for public voting.

The public voting period will be open from April 7 to April 12.

Public voting will be anonymous, with the following rules:

• Each email address may vote once
• If multiple votes are submitted from the same email address, only one vote will be counted
• If different creations are selected in multiple votes from the same email, only the final vote will be valid

To encourage participation, voters will also be entered into a lucky draw to win special National Early Years Teacher Day souvenirs.

The final 10 winners will be announced at the National Early Years Teacher Day celebration event on April 15.
